DWI

If you are looking for the cheapest attorney, I can safely say that I am not the cheapest in the Harnett County area. If you plan to instruct your attorney to plead guilty no matter what, then I am not your guy either. Driving While Impaired charges are serious and I know how important they are to you.
DWIs are probably one of the most difficult cases in the system. They are politicized to the point that in my opinion, you walk into the courtroom “guilty until proven innocent”.The punishment is harsh as well. Even a first time Driving While Impaired offender, if convicted, faces 60 days in jail, loss of license for a year, fines, court costs, and community service (you pay $250 to do at least three days of free work). A person who has had prior drunk driving charges faces up to two years in prison. This is the law in North Carolina, not just Harnett County, and applies whether you got your ticket in the Dunn, Erwin, Angier, Lillington, Coats, or Spring Lake areas.
Call my office 910-897-2105 if you have received a DWI charge. I will give you a consultation, preferably in person and allow you to choose what to do after you have had a chance to understand what you are up against. No attorney can promise results—in fact, you should not hire anyone who makes such a promise. However, I can say that as a former prosecutor I havr prosecuted hundreds of drunk driving charges, and have defended even more. I have extensive training and experience in this area of the law. I defend these cases vigorously because I know how much is at stake for you and your family. You don’t want to go into court unprepared. As part of our fee, we prepare limited driving privileges if a person is eligible, and will give you the information you need prior to your court date. Because it is rare that a DWI charge is handled on the first appearance, I try to coordinate your appearances and avoid any unnecessary days spent wasted in district court.
My fees are generally between $1500 and $2,200 depending upon prior record level (if you have a prior DWI), whether there are other charges such as driving with a revoked license, and other circumstances difficult to predict such as outstanding tickets in Harnett County that need to be handled.
